"Shame, Honour and Gender: Tamil women in Devakottai Refugee camp"

Sudha Rawat is a Doctoral candidate at Jawaharlal Nehru University, in New Delhi. She will present on "Shame, Honour and Gender: Tamil women in Devakottai Refugee camp", exploring the gendered experiences of Tamil women, focussing on the implication of socio-cultural norms related to notions of shame and honour. The event will be discussed by Dr S. Irudaya Rajan, former Professor at the Centre for Development Studies (CDS).

"Marta Vergara and the struggle for equal nationality rights at the League of Nations"

Natali Cinelli Moreira is a Ph.D. candidate in International Relations in a joint PhD at King’s College London and University of São Paulo. She will present on "Marta Vergara and the struggle for equal nationality rights at the League of Nations," discussing how Global South actors have historically brought plural feminisms to the negotiations of women's rights. The event will be discussed by Alanna O’Malley is Associate Professor at the Leiden University Institute for History.
